*Assorted scraps to total about 5 & ½ yards. Assorted widths okay—strips should measure 14” in length down to 5”. Corner pieces should measure 3 & ½” x 5”

** okay to use the same fabric in more than one location. Try to include both lights and darks, and if possible, at least 2 stripes
Either version, 5/8 yard binding, 5 yards backing

OTHER SUPPLIES TO BRING:
*Sewing machine in good working order, neutralthread, filled bobbins.
*a tailor’s clapper
*Jeans (denim) needle
*Glue stick (Elmer’s is fine)
*Pressing mat, travel iron
*small cutting mat, rotary cutter, ruler
**FOUNDATION PAPERS WILL BE PROVIDED**
CUTTING INSTRUCTIONS
Prior to class, please cut from your selected fabrics and bring in bags:
Center Strips—Position 1. Cut TWELVE strips 2” x WOF. Cut at fold for 24 strips.
Positions 2 & 3, either side of center. From the four 5/8 yard cuts, subcut TWELVE STRIPS 1 ½” X WOF. Cut at fold for 24 strips of eachfabric.
Positions 4 & 5, either side of 2 & 3: From 3/8 or ½ yard cuts, subcut EIGHT strips, 1 ½” x WOF. DO NOT SUBCUT FURTHER
Positions 6 & 7, either side of 4 & 5: From 1/3 yard cuts, subcut SIX strips, 1 ½” x WOF. DO NOT SUBCUT FURTHER
Positions 8 (outside corners): From each fat quarter, cut TWENTY-FOUR pieces 3” x 5”.
Fabric requirements listed are somewhat larger then the exact bare minimums, to allow for straightening and/or small mistakes.
